If you’ve started looking into hiring a Central Texas wedding planner, chances are you’ve asked yourself: is full-service planning actually worth it, or can I handle this myself? We get this question a lot, and we always answer it the same way – full-service planning isn’t about taking your wedding away from you. It’s about giving you back the time, energy, and peace of mind to actually enjoy planning it, instead of drowning in spreadsheets and vendor emails at 11pm.
We want to pull back the curtain on what full-service planning really looks like, because we think a lot of couples have an idea of what a planner does that doesn’t quite match the reality. So here’s an honest look at what you’re actually investing in when you bring us on.

When a couple hires us for full-service planning, they have someone by their side from start to finish. We start with the budget, and once that’s approved, we hit the ground running on vendors.
From there, our job is to eliminate the hours of searching and corresponding that would otherwise land on your plate. The vendor process is streamlined. We typically bring you 2 to 4 options for each vendor category, after doing all the behind-the-scenes work: inquiring, checking availability, staying within budget, and putting together a side-by-side comparison so you can review your options easily and choose with confidence.
Vendor communication is probably the most important and biggest task we take off our couples’ plates. Instead of managing conversations with fifteen-plus vendors, you only have to talk to us. And because we get to know you – your likes, your dislikes, what you actually want – we’re able to make decisions on your behalf that line up with your vision.
If you tend to get overwhelmed by too many options or have a hard time with making decisions, this is where full-service planning really shines. We narrow the decision pool down and present vetted vendors we feel confident are the right fit. You’re never stuck sifting through an endless list on your own.

Short answer: there’s no such thing as too early. We love when couples come to us with nothing booked yet, or with just their venue secured. Starting early means we can build your wedding from the ground up together, rather than working around decisions that are already locked in.
Full-service planning tends to be the best fit for couples who:
If any of that sounds like you, full-service planning was made for exactly this.

Every couple is different, and how involved you want to be is completely up to you. If you want to be hands-on throughout the process, we love that. We’ll stay in close touch, working through one thing at a time so you’re never out of the loop. We make sure you get your wedding fill for the month.
If you’d rather us just handle the “things” and bring you the decisions that need to be made, we can work on multiple items at once and come to you with everything ready for your input so we can check them off our list.
Either way, out job is to adapt to what you need, not the other way around.

For our full-service clients, there typically aren’t any surprises on the wedding day because we’ve already accounted for them. Beauty timelines that don’t align. Photographers who aren’t booked for enough coverage. Ceremony and cocktail hour timing that doesn’t sync with your band’s playing time. Misunderstandings about what a florist actually provides (it’s not just flowers). Underestimating just how much your entertainment shapes the entire night.
Anticipating these things isn’t luck. It’s experience, and it’s exactly what you’re paying for when you hire a planner who’s done this before.
This isn’t really a “Texas” thing so much as a logistics thing, but if you’re getting married at a church and hosting your reception somewhere else entirely, there are many, many, MANY details that often go overlooked. Getting-ready logistics, transportation for your bridal party, and cocktail hour timing all take a lot of thought to get right, and that’s where local experience makes a real difference.

If you’re wondering whether full-service planning is “worth it,” here’s what I want you to understand: you’re investing in time. Time you’d otherwise spend making decisions, searching for vendors, doing research, and second-guessing yourself along the way.
We guide our couples through the entire process, sharing our opinion when it’s needed, and making sure no detail is forgotten. That way, all that’s left for you to do is show up and enjoy it.

“Hiring a planner was hands down the BEST decision we made for our wedding. Ashtyn is incredibly organized, talented, and just gets it. The biggest thing for me was the peace of mind she gave us. I didn’t have to look at my phone once the day before or the day of the wedding because I knew Ashtyn had everything handled. My husband and I were actually able to be fully present and enjoy every moment.”

“If we could give more than 5 stars, we absolutely would. From start to finish, her attention to detail, open communication, and genuine kindness made the experience not only seamless, but truly joyful. She’s not just an incredible wedding planner – she’s a calming presence, a creative genius, and someone who genuinely cares about her couples.”

“Ashtyn kept me on track, was a great communicator, and always settled my nerves or stepped in to assist when I needed help. Ashtyn and her assistants were amazing the day of our wedding when it came to coordinating with our many vendors, sticking to the schedule, and making sure my husband and I felt so special.
